There are some exciting updates happening at Fords Pond here in Sutherlin, Oregon!
If you’re looking for things to do in Sutherlin, Oregon, it’s time to check out Fords Pond! With the construction of a new playground, a 2-mile path along the edge of the pond, and opportunities to kayak, fish, and nature watch only minutes off I-5, there isn’t a more convenient place to have fun this weekend!
The new playground includes a merry-go-round, swings, slides, musical instruments, and ping-pong! There are several covered areas for parties or picnics, all offering views of Fords Pond!
Fords Pond is a great place to bring your kayak! With fishing opportunities for bluegill, crappie, perch, and largemouth bass, we did some bass fishing and caught a decent-sized bass on the third cast! We also had several locals stop and show us pictures of whopper bass they’ve caught right here at Fords Pond – so make sure to bring your fishing rods!
The Fords Pond loop path is 2 miles of easy-access paved trail and is a popular spot for residents of the surrounding Sutherlin neighborhoods.
Located on the west side of Sutherlin, Oregon, just minutes away from the Oak Hills Golf Course and surrounding Sutherlin neighborhoods, Fords Pond serves as a nature getaway for locals in the popular Sutherlin area. It’s about 15 minutes from Roseburg and a short drive to I-5.
