Happy Holidays from The Beckham Group! Back on December 23 we went out and enjoyed one of our new traditions – walking downtown in Roseburg Oregon and taking in the lights and decorations, visiting the Douglas County Courthouse and enjoying the tree, drinking hot chocolate, and going to the Festival of Lights!
Douglas County Courthouse & Downtown Roseburg
Every year, Roseburg holds an annual tree lighting ceremony right here on the Douglas County Courthouse front lawn. Last year they did something special, and instead of cutting down a tree and bringing it here for just the season, they decided to permanently plant a beautiful tree to decorate every year for generations to come.
The Douglas County Courthouse as well as Downtown Roseburg are also turned into a beautiful, festive holiday display for all to enjoy.
The Festival of Lights
The Festival of Lights has become an annual tradition in Douglas County, drawing 25,000 visitors per year and generating hundreds of thousands of dollars for Rotary Club scholarships and service projects since 1993.
The Festival of Lights opens at River Forks Park November 22 and runs through January 1.
For just $10 per car, visitors enjoy 90 light displays containing nearly 500,000 lights and all the traditional attractions that have made the Festival famous.
Several special nights are scheduled throughout the season, allowing thousands of people to see the attractions for free through special offers from our generous sponsors. The Festival of Lights also shares gate receipts with worthy local organizations like the Boys & Girls Club of the Umpqua Valley.
